This year’s event will follow the format that has been developed over the past three years. It takes place on 5/6/7 July.
The courtyard at the rear of the Welby Arms will be turned into a fantastic live music venue with full cover for spectators. The music starts on Friday night. This year we have the mellow sounds of Miss Charlotte Porter giving us her take on jazz, jive and swing from the 40’s and 50’s. We then crank up the volume as Relentless take the stage with a feast of Rockabilly.
Our beer festival will open at 6pm on Friday and will continue throughout the weekend.
The music starts on Saturday with a free lunchtime session and from late afternoon there will be string of solo performers before the headline act – Bad Whiskey take to the stage. We will provide more details on all artists in due course. Just check the news page for updates.
Throughout the weekend food will be available from the Welby. However the pattern changes on Sunday when we close the centre of the village to accommodate a classic car show. We also have food from the W.I., a Pimms and Gin bar, some stalls and activities at Allington Manor. The shop will be open too and souvenir T shirts will be on sale.
A flypast by a Spitfire from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight will feature on Sunday afternoon and a few other surprises may yet materialise.
In all it is a superb weekend of entertainment. Don’t miss it.
